In the movie the Wizard of Oz, after the {so-called} wizard gives the other 3 things to make them feel helped, Dorothy says ,"I don't think there's anything in that little black bag for me."This reminds me of God. He can raise the the dead, heal the blind, etc. but when it comes to stopping my busyness--completely helpless!!

1 Samuel 15:22: And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
James 5:16b: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Psalms 84:11b - No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Luke 11:28: He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Psalm 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Prayer is not, and never will be an acceptable substitute for obedience. To pray while ignoring Scripture is to waste a lot of words. We must rid our minds of the false notion and false teaching that prayer alone will bring God’s blessings or revival to our land. Let’s not get "Prayer" twisted. God is not the Wizzard of Oz, a Genie in a lamp, or a Magician in a Crackerjack box.
