In reading some of the prayer requests recently posted, I had an overwhelming sense of the oppression of the evil one's diabolical work in and through those who are not committed to God the Savior of mankind.
Yet, while this is so true, I recall Jesus suffered all that is common to mankind. I also realize as a Christian His work in my life is unfinished. In many trials, sicknesses and adversities similar to what I read in the requests I was given grace to know Jesus is God who is come in the flesh. In overcoming these troubles it wasn't easy. It was very difficult. I now realize God permits some suffering while I have made most of the unnecessary suffering from both human error and poor decisions in not being led of God, the Holy Spirit. Any un-forgiveness meant longer time of suffering. Other times my suffering was to win grace for another soul i have prayed for. Other times it simply was to the glory of God who worked matters out for the salvation of souls in general. The best manner to describe what i think is a Christian life is one of deep surrender with a willingness to become one with Jesus. This means united to Him in His suffering both for me and others. Courage to do this is divinely given and we can ask Him for this gift. I realized there is no goodness in me other than God's Holy Spirit. He has infinite mercy to give. There is nothing he is unwilling to give or do for our good as long as we ask, and are sincere in our reasons. We must however come to terms with the Christian walk. This as those who have gone before us has been a life which is marked with suffering and not always the normal style the world is familiar with.
Perhaps I thought with all the suffering of this world God is allowing many things because we need to be saved for His Eternity. Or those who wouldn't find Him do so through His witness in and through our lives especially in how we manage our difficulties coming to Him for solace, prayer and consolation as Jesus went to the father in the Garden of Gethsemane.
To pray Thy will be done, is very hard for us because we need to be united more to the love God has for others as well as to ourselves. His love is so deep it is unfathomable. He desires all be saved. Yet we must learn to obey His holy Spirit and seek wisdom as to how to pray, give or receive His blessings for ourselves and for others. At times he may want us to separate from even a loved one for a time in order to work things out and for our protection. Other times He may lead us to a deeper understanding of what to do in difficulty and lead us out from the jaws of adversity. Pray for the willingness to be led of His Holy Spirit and the grace to be prompt to receive His holy Grace. This can mean going against our natural mindedness to follow His leading. This can isolate us from even fellow Christians at times. Do not be afraid to follow His leading and prompting of His Holy Spirit within your being. Put Christ above all relationships yet treating others by seeing Him within every creature you meet. God can and does move even on those who do not obey Him for the sake of His beloved ones. Trust more in His wisdom and divine intervention. Offer Him all your suffering as he has already taken all of it on His shoulders carrying the heavy Cross. He has gained victory over sin and error death and hell. Nothing can separate us from His love. Deeply commit yourself and even deeper ask to become filled with His presence daily and to share His love no matter what you have to go through in this world. keep your eye on the prize - Jesus at the finish of this life and the eternal life awaiting you with bliss and joy unceasing.
God's blessings flow into all of your lives and give you His understanding and peace now and forevermore.
