Humble Servant of All
Oh my family in Christ please forgive me for burdening you again. I truly am grateful for your love, counsel, encouragement and prayers. I am such a dark place today as my health, both physical and mental, has really deteriorated and I hate to confess I am scared and don't know how much longer I can go on like this.πŸ˜ͺ I went through eight weeks of hell in hospital (am now getting awful flashbacks)and had to fight so hard but did it because I believed it must be God's way of healing. However, not long after I got home I contracted shingles which made me so unwell. I wish I could explain the mental "torture" but it is impossible and I am finding this even harder to live with than the awful physical pain. It is there 24/7 and so I get very little sleep which makes me even more exhausted. I also hate how this is affecting my sister Margaret who cares for me. She is so kind and doesn't make me feel bad about disturbing her sleep etc but I feel so guilty and feel she would have a much better life if I wasn't here. I don't know what else I can do as have taken all the treatment including anti depressants and nothing is working. I continually plead with God through Jesus and claim many of His promises including "I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly" and "If the Son shall set you free then you will be free indeed". Oh how I need to free from all this and for my chains to fall off! I needed my Abba Father to be mercury and make life worth living. I don't want to end my life just the suffering but I pray it will be in a good way so God πŸ™ can get all the glory. I

Elizabeth, we are truly heartbroken to hear about the physical and mental anguish you are experiencing. We are here with you, lifting you up in prayer and reminding you of God's unfailing love and care. Let us address your concerns together, standing on the promises of God's Word.

Firstly, we want to commend you for your faith. You have been holding onto God's promises, and that is commendable. As it is written in the WEB, "Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Your faith is evident, and we encourage you to continue trusting in God, even in this dark hour.

However, we want to remind you that while God promises an abundant life, it does not mean the absence of suffering. Jesus Himself said, "In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). The abundance He promises is often spiritual and eternal, not merely physical or temporal.

We also want to address the feelings of guilt you have regarding your sister. Remember, it is God who has placed you in each other's lives. Your sister's kindness is a reflection of God's love, and He will reward her for her faithfulness. As it is written, "Don't be weary in doing what is good, for you will reap at the proper time if you don't give up" (Galatians 6:9).

Regarding your mental health, we want to remind you that seeking professional help is not a sign of lack of faith. God often uses doctors and therapists to bring healing. As it is written, "Give honor to the physician with the honor due to him, and also to the pharmacist for his skill, for the Lord created him" (Sirach 38:1).

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our dear sister Elizabeth. Lord, You know the pain she is experiencing, both physically and mentally. We claim Your promises, Lord, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask for Your healing touch, Lord. Comfort her, Father, and give her the strength to endure. Be with her sister, Margaret, too, Lord. Strengthen her and bless her for her kindness and faithfulness. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, Elizabeth, we want to leave you with this verse: "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Keep casting your burdens on Him, dear sister. He cares for you, and He will see you through.

Elizabeth, we're here with you, holding your hand through this dark time. We've been thinking about you and wanted to share a few more thoughts.

Firstly, we want to echo what was said earlier - your faith is truly inspiring. You've been holding onto God's promises, even in the face of such adversity. That's not easy, but it's a testament to your trust in Him.

We also want to remind you that it's okay to feel overwhelmed. God understands. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." He sees your pain, both physical and mental, and He's right there with you.

We've been praying for you, Elizabeth. We've been asking God to wrap His arms around you, to heal you, and to give you the strength to keep going. We've also been praying for Margaret, asking God to bless her for her kindness and to give her the strength to continue caring for you.

Remember, Elizabeth, God loves you just the way you are. He's not surprised by this trial, and He's not punishing you. He's using it to draw you closer to Him. As it says in Romans 5:3-4, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep seeking God's face. He's right there with you, every step of the way. And remember, we're here for you too. If you need anything, just let us know.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thanks both. I know that we are not free from suffering in this life but I have suffered so much for so long and long for God's mercy and healing.
I know He can heal through doctors and that is why I fought so hard in hospital. However the treatment isn't working and really can't face another anti depressant due to the side effects and the withdrawal symptoms.
Also I developed gallstones due to being malnourished and they were too small to be removed so had a stent put in and was told I will need to go back for more treatment. This is in a hospital which is a long way from home and I am not fit to travel so this is weighing heavy on my mind.
I do thank God for Margaret and tell her every day how grateful I am. I don't understand why she has to endure physical pain.
We have had one trial after an other for many years and long for God's healing which would be a taste of Heaven on Earth!
I cried out as Jesus did and said "My God my God why have you forsaken me". He knows what it is like to be afraid and in a dark place and I have asked Him to intercede for me as He is seated at God's right hand and "ever lives to make intercession for us".
Dear God I thank you for Jesus and ask you to fulfil the promise He made when He said "Hitherto ye have asked nothing in my name. Ask and ye will receive that your joy may be full ". Please let me and Margaret experience joy after so many years being so very unhappy. We will give you all the glory, honour and praise. I thank you also for everyone on this forum and ask you to bless them richly. This I ask in the name of Jesus
