Heavenly Father,

In the name of Jesus, we come before you on behalf of ###, who is burdened by the weight of their actions. Lord, we acknowledge that they have made mistakes by cheating on their girlfriend, and they are deeply remorseful. We lift up ###'s sincere desire to make things right and to not lose the person they love.

Your Word reminds us that you are a God of forgiveness and restoration. In Psalm 51:17, it says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." We pray that you would help ### to truly repent and turn away from their unfaithful actions. Give them the strength to resist temptation and to be faithful in their relationship.

Lord, we ask for your grace and mercy to be poured out upon ###'s girlfriend. Soften her heart and grant her the ability to forgive, if it is your will. Relationship infidelity is one of life’s most traumatic experiences. It not only tears at the seams of your relationship but rips the fabric of your soul. Your GF I'm sure has promised to love you, to cherish you. Your partner promised before self and her own relationship with God, to forsake all others and professed to be with you until, “Forever” We make these promises because at the very core of our humanness we need security, love and acceptance. This is why infidelity is so emotionally, mentally, and spiritually damaging. It erodes all trust, security, identity and causes self-doubt. If your GF had an affair, you would feel alone, isolated, and unworthy of love. However, you are not alone...you are seeking help by being honest and sharing your sin. Take a moment and repent for a sin that is a habit and bad cycle. Open your heart to Christ. The Bible is filled with story after story about God’s people in the midst of betrayal, idolatry, or running away from God. Spiritual idolatry is unfaithfulness in your relationship to God. It means being captivated or attracted to the things of this world more than God. ‘‘But like a woman faithless to her lover, even so have you been faithless to me, O house of Israel,’ says the LORD” (Jeremiah 3:20).

Spiritual adultery​

The Bible tells us people who choose the world are adulterous people, this includes any form of idolatry. It could be loving your children, spouse, job, more than you love God. God loves us deeply and when we commit idolatry, it breaks His heart. God truly understands the heartbreak of being cheated on. Perhaps one of the most poignant moments of the Bible that illustrates what your heart may be feeling is the story of Hosea and Gomer. In the Old Testament, the prophet’s wife, Gomer, symbolizes the infidelity of God’s people. Hosea’s commitment to Gomer symbolizes God’s faithfulness to his erring people. You are not alone in the pain you’re feeling. God knows and understands. As a Christian, know that God wants to restore your heart and your relationship. Right now, the very idea of joy or to be in love with your GF again seems impossible. Remember nothing is impossible with God and He truly empathizes with your heartbreak of struggles of sin. Just open your heart to Him.

Prayer for Overcoming Infidelity​

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

That statement makes absolutely no sense based on what you did and said. You don't have to be honest with her because she ain't gonna forget or forgive. But, you might want to be honest with yourself. You already broke the agreement then thought you might be able to be released from your actions. TEMPTATION is the whole thing that men struggle with. Women, honesty, greed, material possessions, power. Look at the foolish evangelicals worshipping the candidate with 91 criminal charges against him. They don't believe he's a God fearing man. They fear God! They want to sin and get away with it too. As men it takes courage to deny the temptation of the world. It is the ego sitting on your shoulder telling you "go ahead just this one time no one but us will know!" Now the whole world knows. But that's not what matters YOU KNOW! RESTORE your relationship. RESTORE your friendship. RESTORE your life. Go to her like a man and say you broke the agreement. She might forgive you. But you must forgive yourself. This is the world that you live in. Protect your life and your community from dishonest behavior and inappropriate actions. Protect your family and your friends. Be trusted. Be honest. That's what changes the world of fools. Be a leader. Admit your mistakes and don't do it again. Like Jesus told the woman that was accused of adultery "go and sin no more." Notice they don't mention the man involved in that story but he was guilty too!!! I have fallen in my life more than once because of my ego urges. It was never ever ever worth it. Look you're not condemned. You've been in a low place or you wouldn't have done it. Let it go and sin no more. Dude. Get on the right path. Believe in yourself. This will pass. Get right with God.
