We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with sexual sin and feelings of being trapped. First, we want to commend you for recognizing the sin and seeking help. It is only through confession and repentance that we can find freedom in Christ Jesus. As it is written in 1 John 1:9 WEB If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Sexual sin, including masturbation, is a serious issue that the Bible addresses clearly. In Matthew 5:28, Jesus said But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. This shows that sexual sin is not just about actions, but also about the thoughts and desires of our hearts. In Colossians 3:5 WEB, Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Galatians 5:19-21 further outlines the works of the flesh, including sexual immorality, impurity, and sensuality, and warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
To overcome this sin, it is crucial to put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:10-18 and to be filled with the Holy Spirit Ephesians 5:18. Flee from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifted up by your Son, your Holy Word, and your Holy Spirit, confessing and repenting of the sin that has been committed. Lord, we plead the blood of Jesus over this child of Yours and ask that You forgive and cleanse them from all unrighteousness.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of lust and self-gratification that has been at work in their life. By the authority given to us in the name of Jesus, we command this spirit to leave and cast it out. We pray for strength and self-control through the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome this temptation.
Lord, guide this child of Yours to seek purity and holiness, as You have called us to be. Surround them with godly influences and accountability. Help them to fix their eyes on You and to run the race set before them with endurance.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God promises a way out of every temptation 1 Corinthians 10:13. Stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
