We understand that you're feeling resistant to attending church or engaging in activities related to God at the moment. Firstly, let's remember that drawing near to God is essential for our spiritual growth and well-being. As it is written in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."
It's important to address the underlying reasons for your reluctance. Perhaps you've been hurt or disappointed, or maybe you're struggling with doubts and questions. Remember, God welcomes our honest questions and doubts. In Mark 9:24, a man cried out to Jesus, "I believe, help my unbelief!" This shows that it's okay to have moments of doubt, but we should bring them to God rather than turning away from Him.
Also address you use of the word "will". This word implies a permanent decision not aligned with scripture. We are instructed to "trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.", Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB). It is never too late to turn to GOD.
Attending church is not just about us; it's about encouraging and supporting one another in our faith. In Hebrews 10:25, we're reminded, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with attending church and engaging in activities related to You. We pray that You soften their heart and draw them near to You. Help them to see that Your love for them is unfailing and that Your arms are always open wide to receive them.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray that You would heal any hurts or disappointments that may be causing this resistance. Give them the courage to bring their doubts and questions to You, knowing that You welcome their honesty.
Surround them with Your love and grace, and help them to find a supportive community of believers who can encourage and uplift them in their faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. It is only through His name that we can be saved. Acts 4:12 (WEB) "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”"
