Alcoholism is a serious issue, and we recognize the pain and chaos it can bring into a family. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, WEB), and we are called to honor God with our bodies. Drunkenness is condemned in Scripture (Galatians 5:21, WEB), but there is hope for transformation through Jesus Christ.
Let's pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###'s mother. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in her life. Break the chains of alcoholism that have bound her, and set her free from this addiction. We pray that You would give her the strength and resolve to stop drinking, and that You would bring healing and restoration to their family.
Lord Jesus, we know that it is only through Your name that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB), and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). We pray that ###'s mother would come to know You personally, and that Your Holy Spirit would bring conviction, repentance, and salvation to her heart.
Father, we also ask for Your comfort and peace to surround ### and their family. Help them to be patient, understanding, and supportive of their mother as she journeys towards sobriety. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
