All Christians are subject to attacks by the enemy, Thry these:

Evil spirits still exist but they have no weapons. Jesus defeated them at the cross. All they can do is attack your mind and try to get you to do things that are against God's will. God bless you for praying. What you had said spoke volumes. I am a very forgiving person that always believes what people say is the truth and am always going out of my way to help, to abundantly give to others to the point I get taken advantage of.The people that I'm referring to being abusive are some of the people I'd encountered on my job that professed they are Christians. I'm not to judge whether they are or not, but they have done some extremely mean-spirited, vile things to me(over the top insults as well as a physical assault)which is fine, and act as if nothing is wrong. The ones I'm referring to have mental illnesses. And trying to be forgiving, I've accepted what they'd done, moved on, and am still treating them as I would like to be. However, what you'd said is the truth, and it made me acknowledge that I need to cut some people out of my life, rebuke the evil, etc. and continue in prayer to God. God bless you always for your advice, but more importantly, your prayers.
