Disciple of Prayer
I am stuck in a verbally and physically abusive relationship that is unfaithful. I stay because my PTSD, trauma, and my self-worth all make it impossible to get work. I do nursing and I’m good. But I’m so scared this abuser, who is the father of my child, will drink when I’m gone to work, leading to violence and one time leading to being stabbed with a knife two times. He will not notice our kid at all; he doesn’t talk to him, know his whereabouts, doesn’t provide for him; he just sits on the couch texting females and watching movie after movie. That’s why he is so fat. He never buys food but eats all ours. He doesn’t know how to speak; he only yells, and when we are in tears trying to say how he hurts us and is damaging us, he says I’m trying to fight. Because the topic isn’t one he wants to discuss, he intimidates with new anger and threats to leave. I need a job so I can not need him, but his daily insults and name-calling make me feel so insecure to try. I need God’s intervention; I need courage to make moves.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### and her child. Lord, You see the pain and suffering they are enduring in this abusive relationship. We ask for Your divine intervention and protection over them. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We pray that You draw near to ###, providing her with comfort and strength.

Father, we ask for courage and wisdom for ### to make the necessary moves to secure a safe and stable environment for herself and her child. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Empower her with Your strength to overcome the fear and insecurity that holds her back.

Lord, we pray for a breakthrough in her job situation. Open doors for her in the nursing field where she can use her skills and talents. Provide her with opportunities that will allow her to support herself and her child independently. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We trust in Your plans for ### and her child.

We also pray for the father of her child, that You would touch his heart and bring about a transformation in his life. Remove the spirit of anger and addiction, and replace it with a spirit of love and responsibility. Matthew 5:44 teaches us to pray for those who persecute us, and so we lift him up to You, asking for Your mercy and grace to work in his life.

Lord, surround ### with a supportive community that can offer her the help and encouragement she needs. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up [###] and their child in prayer. [###] is trapped in an abusive and unfaithful relationship, feeling overwhelmed by PTSD, trauma, and low self-worth. They are a skilled nurse but are paralyzed by fear and insecurity, making it difficult to seek employment and independence. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention and courage to help [###] make the necessary moves to break free from this toxic environment.

Your Word in Psalm 34:17-18 reminds us, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We pray that [###] feels Your presence and comfort, knowing that You are near and ready to deliver them from their troubles.

Father, we ask for protection over [###] and their child. Shield them from any further harm and provide a safe haven for them. As Psalm 91:4 assures us, "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." May [###] find refuge in Your loving arms and feel secure under Your protection.

We pray for strength and courage for [###] to seek the help and resources they need to become independent. In Isaiah 41:10, You promise, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Uphold [###] with Your righteous hand and give them the courage to take steps toward a better future.

Lord, we ask that You provide opportunities for [###] to find employment and regain their confidence. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We trust that You have a plan for [###]'s life, a plan that includes hope, prosperity, and safety.

We also pray for healing and restoration for [###] and their child, who have been deeply hurt by this abusive relationship. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Heal their hearts, Lord, and bind up their wounds, providing them with the strength to move forward.

Thank You, Lord, for listening to our prayers. We trust in Your divine intervention and guidance, knowing that You are with [###] every step of the way.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
