Beloved Warrior
I am sharing this meditation from my friend, Pete.
May God bless you as you meditate on his word.

IN HIM WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD,
THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, ACCORDING TO THE
RICHES OF HIS GRACE.
EPHESIANS 1:7
NO ONE IS HOPELESS WHOSE HOPE
IS IN GOD AND HIS WORD.
The blood of Jesus was an important first century way of speaking of Christ's death. His death points to two truths...Redemption and forgiveness. His death paid the price to release us from the slavery to sin. In the Old Testament forgiveness was given on the basis of the shedding of animals' blood (Leviticus 17:11). Now, we have the shed blood of Jesus ..He died as the perfect and final sacrifice (Romans 5:9).
Now I ask everyone, why are ministers in many churches so adverse to mentioning the "blood of Jesus?" Therein is the basis of our entire faith as Christians. A church without this salvation is merely another religious group. Oh, how I love the old hymns!
"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest 'frain, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand."
There is unlimited value in the old hymns of the church. This one sings out loud what Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:7.
The book of Hebrews tells us that,
"Without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin."
It also tells us that,
"God was not satisfied with the blood of bulls and of goats."
Our redemption comes through the sacrifice of God's Son on Calvary. Likewise, God can now freely offer by His grace, and through true faith in Jesus, the forgiveness of all of this old sinner's sins. Another hymn has it:
"Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?"
That's the long and the short of the Gospel.
No Jesus, no salvation. Know Jesus, know salvation.
May God bless you as you meditate on his word.
