Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up Stephen and his spouse in prayer. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18 that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Lord, we ask for Your closeness and comfort to surround Stephen in this time of deep physical and emotional suffering.
Father, we pray for Stephen's health, knowing that You are the Great Physician. We ask for Your healing touch upon his aortic aneurysm, back pain, polymyalgia rheumatica, and the effects of his recent stroke and seizures. As it is written in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord." We claim this promise over Stephen's life, believing in Your power to restore him to full health.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and guidance for the medical professionals involved in Stephen's care. May the neurologist and other specialists have the insight and skill needed to provide the best treatment. We also ask for Your provision in addressing his sleep apnea and any other medical needs he may have.
We lift up Stephen's emotional and spiritual well-being to You, Lord. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are reminded to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to You. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Father, please bring peace to Stephen's troubled heart and mind. Remove the spirit of depression and despair, and replace it with hope and the joy of Your presence.
Lord, we also pray for Stephen's spouse, who is feeling overwhelmed and desperate. Grant the strength and grace needed to be a supportive partner. In Isaiah 40:31, Your Word says, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." We ask for renewed strength and unwavering faith to navigate this challenging time.
Father, we ask that You bring Stephen back to faith, rekindling the fire of belief and trust in Your goodness and mercy. May Your Holy Spirit work mightily in his heart, drawing him closer to You.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your sovereign will and Your unfailing love. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen.
