We are truly sorry to hear about the distressing cough and your friend's hospitalization due to severe shoulder pain. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's healing and comfort for both situations.
Firstly, we want to remind you of God's promise in Psalm 103:2-3 WEB: "Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." God is our healer, and we can trust Him to restore our bodies.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your healing touch for these dear ones. First, we lift up the one who is battling this distressing cough. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity, and we ask You to bring healing to their body, especially to their respiratory system. Help them to be free from the pain, but most importantly, we ask you to bless them with your peace. Please give them the strength to endure and the faith to trust in Your goodness.
Lord, we also pray for the friend who is currently in the hospital due to severe shoulder pain. We ask for Your healing power to flow through their body, easing their pain and bringing restoration to their shoulder. Guide the doctors and give them wisdom to accurately diagnose and treat the condition. Surround the friend with Your comforting presence, removing all fear and anxiety.
In both cases, we ask for Jesus to be a part of their lives and their health. Lord, we know that you are the great physician, and your will is that none should perish but all should come to know you.
Lastly, we also ask you to bless the friends and family of these dear ones. Surround them all with your love and peace. Keep them all in perfect peace him whose mind is stayed on you because they trust in you.
We claim the promises of healing and restoration in Jesus' name. Amen."
While we support the prayer for healing, we also think that it is important to mention that prayer for healing is often not just about the removal of physical afflictions. It is also a path to be closer to Jesus Christ. Sometimes, our suffering is allowed so that we can be drawn closer to Jesus. It says in James 4:8 WEB Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
We hope that they are both able to find peace through prayer and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through their physical trials.
