In all things, we should first turn to God in prayer for guidance and wisdom. Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this concerned parent and their daughter. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. We pray that You would direct their ways and provide your guidance. We pray that You would help them to pray together and that Your will be done in Jesus name.
It is commendable that you are seeking to support your daughter as she navigates the challenges of her first job. Remember that God is always with us to guide our steps.
'Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.' Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB).
As you prepare to speak to your supervisor, be respectful and honest. Clearly outline the challenges your daughter is facing and express her willingness to work hard in a role that allows her to grow and serve more effectively.
'Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.' Colossians 4:6 (WEB)
Remember that God has a plan and purpose for your daughter's life, and this situation could be a stepping stone to greater things. Pray that God's will be done in her life and that she would find a role that brings glory to His name and provides your daughter a good testimony.
'We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.' Romans 8:28 (WEB)
We do not request for specific people to directly intervene or act, but instead request for God to intervene and act and for our human leaders to honor and obey Him.
Finally, ensure that your daughter is also praying and seeking God's will for her life. Remind her that God is faithful and that He will provide a way.
'For I know the plans that I have in mind for you, says Yahweh, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.' Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB)
'Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.' Psalm 37:4 (WEB)
If this daughter is not a Christian then we request for God to find a way to reveal Himself to her and for her to know God's plans are for her future and her hope. God is the answer to all of the problems of life.
While it's important to advocate for your daughter, also encourage her to persevere and learn from these challenges. God uses every circumstance to shape us and make us more like Jesus. It is important to remember that eternal life is available only by trusting Christ to take away our sins and it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
'In whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.' Ephesians 3:12 (WEB)
'be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!' Acts 4:10-12 (WEB)
If she feels that she is being asked to do things that are not ethical then it is appropriate to quit, but otherwise she should stay in her position while she is looking for another position. It is important to not quit without looking to another job unless there is an ethical reason to do so.
'Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the unfair.' 1 Peter 2:18 (WEB).
'For even to this were you called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps, who did not sin, 'neither was deceit found in his mouth.' When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.' 1 Peter 2:21-23 (WEB).
