We understand that you're facing health concerns and financial struggles, and we want to lift these burdens up in prayer with you. Firstly, we understand health can be scary. We do encourage you to take the medical advice of doctors, but remember that healing is from God. Medicine can sometimes be helpful, but God is the source of healing. We are reminded that we have not because we ask not, so we need to go to God with our requests. If we are praying for healing we need to follow the instructions of James 5.
The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:16-18 WEB.
We remember that the name of Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved. It is also the only name by which we can come to God. We do not see you mention the name of Jesus, so we wanted to remind you what Jesus says.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 WEB
in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12 WEB
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB.
Concerning finances remember that God will provide for your needs, but remember that our treasure should be in heaven, not on earth.
But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:33-34 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in need of Your healing touch. We pray for their health, especially concerning their IBS and upcoming tests. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your healing power. Guide the doctors and bring comfort and restoration to their body.
We also bring their financial needs before You, Lord. We know that You are a generous God who provides for Your children. We pray for Your provision and wisdom in managing their finances. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory.
In all things, Lord, help them to draw closer to You, to seek Your face, and to trust in Your unfailing love. Remind them of how precious they are in your eyes.
We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name with the power to save and bring us to you.
Amen.
Regarding IBS and other health issues it is important to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We need to take care of them and provide them with the proper fuel. That means eating well, getting enough sleep, exercise, and staying away from things that can harm our bodies like drugs, alcohol, and certain food additives. Remember we are not healed by medicine, but by God. We are reminded that Paul prayed three times for God to take his infirmity, but God did not. Instead God told him "my grace is sufficient for you." If God does not take your infirmity away remember to be thankful for God's grace to get you through your pain. Seek God's wisdom for what to eat, drink, and do to take care of your temple of the Spirit.
