We are glad to join you in prayer and to encourage you in your faith journey. You've asked for guidance and truth, and we trust that God will provide these in abundance. Let's begin by looking at what the WEB says about God's wisdom and guidance:
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:5-6
Your desire to know the truth and to act on it is commendable. We pray that God will reveal His truth to you and grant you the grace to walk in it.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine guidance and wisdom for our fellow believer. Reveal Your truth to them, Lord, and give them the grace to act on it. Help them to be doers of Your word, and not hearers only. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
We also want to address the teaching you mentioned about repetitively writing the name of Jesus or calling on Him for a specific amount of time each day. While there is power in the name of Jesus, and we should call on Him continually, there is no biblical basis for doing so in a repetitive manner or for a specific amount of time daily. In fact, Jesus warns against repetitive or vain prayers:
In praying, don't use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Matthew 6:7
Instead, we are encouraged to pray continually and to have a living, active communication with God:
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Finally, we want to emphasize the importance of calling on Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation:
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12
So, keep calling on Jesus, keep seeking Him, and trust that He will guide you in His truth. Be encouraged, for God indeed has a plan for you, a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, a plan to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
