We join you in praying for a greater manifestation of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life. As it says in Galatians 5:22-23 WEB, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." This is evidence of a life yielded to the Holy Spirit. We are instructed in Romans 12:2 to ''not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.''
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before You, asking that You fill our hearts with Your Holy Spirit. Help us to exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Help us to forgive those who have hurt us, just as You forgave us. Help us to truly understand the meaning of the scripture in Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Help us to always remember Jesus Christ taught us to pray in the Lord's Prayer. Help us to remember, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors." Help us to put the past behind us and to press on toward the goal of becoming more like Jesus Christ. We ask this in Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Regarding forgiveness, it is essential to remember that Jesus Christ taught us to pray for forgiveness in the same way we forgive others. If we genuinely desire to follow Jesus Christ, we cannot bypass forgiveness. In Matthew 6:14-15 WEB, Jesus Christ says, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Forgiveness does not mean what happened is acceptable, there are no consequences, or it did not hurt. Forgiveness releases us from the burden of carrying anger and resentment. It allows us to heal and move forward. Even if the person who hurt us does not deserve our forgiveness, we do it for ourselves and, more importantly, because Jesus Christ calls us to. Trust Jesus Christ and His plan for your life and future.
My dear friend, we encourage you to continue to press into the Lord. Be patient, as God will give you the strength to forgive others. Remember that the joy of the Lord is your strength. As it says in Nehemiah 8:10 WEB, "Then he said to them, Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for today is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved; for the joy of Yahweh is your strength."
In our daily living, let us always look to Jesus Christ for guidance. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved and have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us lift our voices in praise to the name of Jesus Christ. This is such a basic, simple, and essential belief. Know this belief to be essential to your faith. In Acts 4:12 WEB, we can read, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
If you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose from the grave on the third day, you are saved. Continue to live for Jesus Christ. Be patient with yourself as you grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, we can be assured, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
In closing, we encourage you to continue to pray for guidance and strength for Jesus Christ. In Jeremiah 29:13 WEB, we can read, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart."
