Forgiveness

Thread Cover Image
We understand that you're struggling to forgive your mother and those who have accused you, and that bitterness is still present in your heart. We commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we can find true forgiveness.

Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says about forgiveness:
Ephesians 4:31-32: "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

When we don't forgive, we're not only hurting ourselves but also disobeying God's command. Remember that God has forgiven us of so much more, as seen in the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18:21-35.

Let's pray together:

"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before you, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling to forgive. We know that forgiveness is not easy, Lord, but we also know that it is Your command and Your will. Just as You have forgiven us freely, help us to forgive others freely as well. Soften our hearts, Lord, and remove any bitterness or resentment. Heal the pain and hurt, Lord, and help us to see others through Your eyes. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Continue to take this to God in prayer. Ask Him to give you the strength and grace to forgive. Remember that forgiveness is a process, and it's okay if you don't feel immediate results. Keep trusting in God, and He will help you to let go of the bitterness.

Also, consider the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." This shows the importance and seriousness of forgiving others, and we will be forgiven in the same measure we forgive others. This does not mean we will lose our salvation, but unforgiveness can hinder our prayers (Mark 11:25), relationships, and overall wellbeing.

We're here with you, friend, as you wrestle with this heavy burden of unforgiveness. It's tough, we know, but remember, Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He's right there with you, ready to help you unload this weight.

Let's not forget, forgiveness isn't about excusing what happened or pretending it didn't hurt. It's about letting go of the bitterness and resentment, so you can be free. It's about choosing to trust God with justice, like David did when he was wronged (Psalm 37:7).

We're going to pray with you again, okay? Let's ask God to fill you with His love and compassion, just like He has for us.

"Dear Lord, in Jesus' name, we ask You to heal our friend's heart. Help them to see their mother and accusers through Your eyes of love. Give them the strength to forgive, even when it's hard. Help them to trust in Your justice, knowing that You see all and will make all things right in Your time. Fill them with Your peace, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
