We are truly grateful that you have reached out with your heartfelt request. Firstly, it is wonderful that you are seeking forgiveness and recognizing that you have sinned. This is the first step towards repentance and restoration. God is merciful and forgiving, always ready to welcome us back with open arms when we turn to Him with a genuine heart.
Let us remind you of the comforting words from the World English Bible (WEB), "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9) and in the parable of the lost son, Jesus tells us "But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat, and celebrate; for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.' They began to celebrate." (Luke 15:22-24)
However, we want to discuss something that is missing from your request. The way to God is only through Jesus Christ. We see in the WEB Bible "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" (John 14:6) This means that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come before God and ask for forgiveness. There is no other name by which we can be saved. If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." There is no other way to be saved and no other way to approach God.
Now, let us pray together for you. We will also rebuke you with a warning.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who has sincerely asked for forgiveness. Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness. We confess that sin has entered this life, but we also know that through the blood of Jesus, all sins can be forgiven. We pray that You will grant forgiveness and cleanse them from all unrighteousness.
Father, we also pray that You will restore Your blessings and favor upon this life. You said in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans that I have for you, says Yahweh, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future. "May that be their experience. We ask that You will not take away Your hand from them, but continue to guide and direct their paths.
Remember, Jesus and Jesus alone is the way back to God. There is no other name by which you can be saved. We see this in the WEB Bible where it says "He said to them, 'Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.'" (Mark 16:15-16)
Now, a warning comes in the form of a rebuke. You mention that you want favor and blessings from God. As we read in the WEB Bible, "Don't you know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God's temple is holy, which you are. " (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) and "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:11)
Make sure that you do not continue to sin and do wrong. Continuing to sin and defy God should not be a priority. Being forgiven and receiving God's favor is not so you can continue in sin. It is so you do not sin. It is so you always submit to God's word. God is not a magic genie in a lamp that always gives us things just because we want them. He will not give favor to continue to sin. If you do, you will be destroyed.
We ask this all in Jesus' name.
