We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision you will ever make. You have taken the first step by recognizing your need for a savior. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved."
This is the core of the gospel message. Believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the only way to be saved, as Acts 4:12 reminds us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." It is through Jesus alone that we have access to God, and confessing and turning away from your sins, also known as repentance, is a crucial part of this process.
We encourage you to dive into the Word of God, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which tell the story of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this person who is seeking Your face and the path to salvation. We thank You for placing this desire in their heart, and we ask that You continue to draw them to Yourself. Help them to understand the magnitude of Your love for them, demonstrated through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Grant them the faith to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and the courage to confess this belief with their mouth. Give them a heart that is willing to repent and turn away from their sins, and a desire to follow and obey Jesus all the days of their life.
Guide them as they read and study Your Word, and give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. Help them to grow in their faith and become a strong disciple of Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you journey into your new life in Christ, remember that you are never alone. God is always with you, and we are here to support and pray for you.
