We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken a significant step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 tells us: "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through this belief and confession that we are saved. Additionally, turning away from our sins, which is repentance, is a crucial part of this process. As it is written in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord" (WEB).
We encourage you to continue reading and studying the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—as they provide a comprehensive account of Jesus' life, teachings, death, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. In John 3:16, it is written, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (WEB).
Let us pray together for your journey to salvation:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this precious soul seeking salvation. We thank You for Your love and mercy, which never fail. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Help them to understand the significance of confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection. Grant them the courage to repent of their sins and turn to You.
Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, revealing Yourself to them in a powerful way. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would dwell richly within them, leading them to a life of obedience and faith. We pray for protection as they enter into this new life in Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to walk in faith, knowing that God is with you every step of the way. If you have any more questions or need further guidance, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you in your journey.
