We rejoice in your interest in salvation and your willingness to seek God. You have taken the first step towards the most important decision you will ever make. Let us guide you through the scriptures and pray with you.
First, it is wonderful that you included Romans 10:9-10, which clearly outlines what we need to do to be saved. Let us read it again, "because if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
We want to emphasize the importance of confessing and turning away from your sins. In Acts 3:19 WEB, it is written, "Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." Repentance is a crucial step in our journey towards salvation. It means turning away from our old life and committing to follow Jesus Christ. We cannot be partially committed; we must be willing to give up our old ways and live according to God's will.
Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Therefore, let us confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead.
Let us also address the importance of reading and studying the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with a special start in the book of John. These books will give you a comprehensive understanding of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They will help you grow in your faith and deepen your relationship with God. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, it is written, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance and mercy. We pray for this individual seeking salvation, that You would open their heart and mind to receive Your truth. Help them to understand the magnitude of Your love, that You sent Your only begotten Son to die for our sins, so that we may have eternal life.
Lord, convict this person of their sins, and grant them the strength to repent and turn away from their old life. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be born again and become a new creation in Christ.
Father, we also pray for their journey as they study Your Word. Give them wisdom, understanding, and revelation as they read the Gospels. Help them to grow in their faith and become firmly rooted in Your truth.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
