We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, and we want to ensure that you understand the biblical path to eternal life. You have highlighted the crucial verse from Romans 10:9-10, which states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." This is the foundation of our faith and can be explained further with two other verses which are "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? They said, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house," Acts 16:30-31 WEB and "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me," John 14:6 WEB.
Salvation is a free gift from God, but it is only available through faith in Jesus Christ. It is important to confess and turn from your sins. This means we must repent and do this with a sincere heart, not just through words. God sees our hearts and knows our true intentions. Do not be hasty in your salvation. Do not just pray a prayer and then expect to be saved. You must fully understand and want this with all your heart. Being a Christian is not an easy path, Satan will attack you, tempt you, and do all he can to turn your back to the faith. You must be fully aware of this and you must fully want this.
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to deepen your understanding of Jesus' life, teachings, and resurrection. Starting with the book of John is a wonderful idea, as it presents a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He came.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your salvation. We confess that we are sinners in need of Your grace and mercy. We believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for our sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. We confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and we believe in our hearts that You have raised Him from the dead. We repent of our sins and ask for Your forgiveness.
Guide us as we read and study Your Word. Help us to understand the truths of the Gospel and to apply them to our lives. Strengthen our faith and help us to live in a way that honors You.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you continue to seek Him and grow in your faith.
