We are grateful for the opportunity to stand with these individuals in prayer, seeking God's deliverance and healing. Firstly, we acknowledge the importance of calling on the name of Jesus Christ. "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in him" (Ephesians 3:12, WEB). It is only through Jesus that we can be given salvation, fornication and bondage.
Masturbation and pornography are indeed bondages that many struggle with, but God's Word is clear that we can be delivered from these chains. "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God" (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these individuals who are struggling with the bondage of masturbation and pornography. We confess that these are sins that break Your heart, and they do not align with Your will for our lives. We thank you that you have promised your people. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Father, we ask for Your forgiveness and Your healing. Break these chains and give them the strength to resist these temptations. Give them pure hearts and minds, that they may honor You with their bodies. In Jesus name we pray.
We encourage all to be intentional about fleeing from these temptations. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). Involve yourself in activities that glorify God and fill your hearts and minds with the Word of God.
