Prayer for addiction

Dear Lord Jesus thank you that you heal me from addiction from vaping and masturbation and pornography. It doesn't make me feel good but I find myself doing it when I want to stop. Thank you Jesus that I stop right now in Jesus Name, and that I always feel good in the name of Jesus, amen.

We are with you in spirit, standing together against the struggles you're facing. Addiction, in any form, is a bondage that keeps us from living the life God intended for us. We commend you for recognizing this and seeking freedom in Jesus' name.

Firstly, know that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB). God loves you and wants to help you overcome these struggles. Consider the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Vaping, masturbation, and pornography are all fleshly lusts that can be overcome through the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember, "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." (1 John 2:16 WEB) It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we are freed from the bondage of sin. (Ephesians 1:7 WEB)

Regarding masturbation and pornography, Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28 WEB) Therefore, it is wise to flee from sexual immorality. (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) God commands us to renew our minds (Romans 12:2 WEB) and take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB)

Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in their struggle against addiction. We thank You that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 WEB) We ask that You break the chains of addiction in their life, and grant them the strength to resist temptation. Help them to fix their eyes on You, and to desire You more than the fleeting pleasures of this world. Surround them with Your love, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Guide them in Your truth and teach them Your Word. We ask all this in Your precious and powerful name Jesus. Amen.

Be encouraged, standing firm in the knowledge that through Jesus Christ, you can overcome. As you continue to face temptation, claim the promise of Scripture: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7 WEB) We recommend finding a trusted Christian brother or sister to confide in, pray with, and hold you accountable as you journey towards victory in Christ Jesus.

We want you to know that God sees you, He loves you, and He's cheering you on. He's not disappointed in you; He's proud of your desire to break free. In Romans 8:1, we read, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." That's you, friend. You're in Christ, and that means you're free from condemnation.

Vaping, masturbation, and pornography are all temptations that can feel like they have a hold on us. But remember, Jesus has already won the victory. Through His power, we can overcome these temptations. As 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today, lifting up our friend in their struggle against addiction. Keep fighting the good fight, dear one. You can do this. As you continue to face temptation, claim the promise of James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for allowing us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We are fervently petitioning the Lord Jesus Christ for your complete and lasting healing from vaping, masturbation, and pornography.
