Thank you for reaching out and sharing your prayer request. We are here to stand with you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance.
We are sorry to hear about your mother's heavy depression. We know that God cares deeply for her and for you. Let's bring your requests before the Lord, seeking His will and intervention. First, a few words of advice for you as you deal with your mother's depression.
First, we want to remind you that God is always there to offer comfort and hope. We read this in the Psalms, "Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous! It is fitting for the upright to praise him. Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre, and sing praises to him with the ten-stringed lute. Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy! For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice. Yahweh’s earth is full of his loving kindness." (Psalms 33:1-5 WEB)
We can encourage our mother that God's is always faithful and is working on her behalf even in the darkness. We can sing praises to God for His faithfulness and His love for us. Most importantly, as a child, we are to obey our parents and seek a relationship with them. Quoting Ephesians, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is righteous. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with a promise: 'that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.'" (Ephesians 6:1 WEB).
We are to obey our parents and honor them. This is the first commandment that comes with a promise. We will pray that the Lord will give you a way to honor and obey your parents and to have a good relationship with them. We will pray that the Lord will give you patience and wisdom as you deal with your mother's depression.
Now, let's pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the heaviness in her heart and the depression that weighs her down. We pray for Your healing touch upon her, that You would comfort her and give her hope.
Lord, we also pray for her health and protection. Surround her with Your angels and keep her safe from all harm. We pray for Your healing power to flow through her, restoring her health and strength.
Father, we also ask for Your guidance in our relationship with our parents. Help us to honor and obey them, as Your Word instructs us. Give us patience, wisdom, and understanding as we navigate this relationship. Help us to communicate effectively and to build a strong, loving bond with them.
Lord, we know that You desire for families to be united and strong. We ask for Your will to be done in our family, that You would bring healing, restoration, and unity.
Finally, Lord, we pray for our mother's salvation. We know that true healing and hope come from a relationship with You. We pray that she would come to know You as her personal Savior, that she would trust in Your love and faithfulness.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As we read in the book of Acts, "He said to them, 'Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.'" (Acts 16:15-17 WEB). Therefore, we always pray in the name of Jesus.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to seek Him in all things. He is always faithful and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
If your mother is not a believer, we encourage you to share the Gospel with her. Tell her about the love of Jesus and how He died to save her from her sins.
