You understand for sure that the written word is dead if not quickenethed by the Holy Spirit, so not every Word is for anyone and not every Word is for any time. There are Times and seasons, so the Word of God is changing for anyone from day to day and from season to season. Your Word and my Word which changes us inside is every day different. You cannot live from the bread You have eaten yesterday, You must eat every day new food (unless You fast off course...). Not to mention when someone prophesies, this is a special Word for someone, for the church, for the nation...
I do see how you have been taught and thank you for blessing me to meditate on God's Word. It is quite a pleasure to converse with you. You make me smile
There is a way to look at what you just said as truth and I do agree with that concept to a certain degree. I would just never say in any circumstance that the Word of God is dead but I do agree with your interpretation. I would say it is us that is dead or not allowing the life of God's Word to fully flow in us by our obedience, our exercising the power of God, if God has made us alive in Him that is or given us the desire for Him etc.
Different translations and the way we all perceive things is based on what we all have been taught, experience and believe throughout our lives. We are the ones that are dead unless Jesus, God's name, one of God's names, God's most powerful name in our language gives us life. Dormant is probably a better word than dead as God's word can lay dormant in someone for years until that moment that it is needed or maybe just understood. When God moves us or moves in us.
My personal understanding comes from years of studying the original Greek and Hebrew versions which is God's living writted Word that is alive. I have the online Bible with a Strong's concordance that you can download for free at onlinebible.org. It is very interesting to go through the Bible with all of the meanings for one Greek or Hebrew word as you go. I can see how the different translations came into being as I look at those as well.
Hebrews 4:12
ESV / For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
KJV / For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
We teach ourselves as we teach others. As I type to you I'm typing to myself and Tina and anyone else that reads this of course. We are growing closer to Jesus by our listening, learning, teaching and doing. We are doers of Jesus' Words. Say it to yourself, I am a doer of Jesus' Words!
I love you all my brothers and sisters, sons and daughters! Be blessed and alive in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!
Thanks again Natasha! Always a pleasure!
