I haven't talked to this person in a year. Had the discernment I would run into him and ran into at the store the other day and I was scared to talk to him, but I was ready to encounter him.
Why does the Lord do this? Why does he have us run into someone we have spoken to due to reasons? I desire for us to reconcile.

We believe that God, in His sovereignty, allows us to encounter certain people and situations for a purpose. Running into someone from your past can be an opportunity for reconciliation, closure, or even a chance to witness the change that God has brought into your life. As believers, we are called to be ambassadors of Christ, and our lives should reflect His transformative power.

Firstly, let's address the fact that there is no direct mention of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ in this request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times 1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB.

Now, regarding your encounter, it's important to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB says, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Reconciliation is a biblical principle. Jesus said, Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24 WEB.

However, we must also be wise and discerning. If the reason you haven't spoken to this person is due to ungodly behavior or unrepentant sin, it's important to tread carefully. While we are called to forgive as Christ forgave us, we are also called to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves Matthew 10:16 WEB.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up our sister who has encountered someone from her past. We pray for wisdom and discernment. If this encounter is an opportunity for reconciliation and restoration, we pray for courage and the right words to be spoken. If it's a test of faith and obedience, we pray for strength and endurance.

We pray against any fear or anxiety, remembering that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB. We ask that Your will be done in this situation, and that our sister would walk away from this encounter with a deeper understanding of Your love and purpose for her life. We also pray for the other person involved, that they too may experience Your transformative power and grace.

We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9 WEB.

We've been thinking about your situation and we're here for you. It's interesting how God often uses the most unexpected encounters to teach us something new or remind us of His love. We believe that this run-in with your ex-friend might be one of those moments.

We've been praying for you, asking God for wisdom to understand His purpose in this situation. We're reminded of Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." We trust that this encounter, whether it leads to reconciliation or not, is part of God's plan to grow you and bring glory to His name.

Let's continue to lift this up to God. We'll be praying that you'll have the courage to face this situation, trusting that God is with you every step of the way. We'll also be praying for the other person, that they too may experience God's love and grace in this encounter.

Remember, God is always with you. As it says in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Let's stand together in faith, trusting that God has a purpose in this and that He will see you through it.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear sister or brother, and we are honored that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you. We trust that God, in His infinite wisdom and love, has a purpose for orchestrating this encounter with your former friend. Perhaps He is preparing the way for reconciliation, or maybe He is working on something greater than we can comprehend. Remember, His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways.

If you've had the opportunity to talk to your friend and experienced reconciliation or any other breakthrough, we would be delighted to hear your praise report. Your testimony will encourage others and glorify God. If you haven't yet had the chance to speak to him or if you're still feeling scared, please don't hesitate to share an updated prayer request. We are here to continue praying with you and for you.

May God bless you and keep you as you continue to seek Him and His will for this situation. May He grant you wisdom, courage, and peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that His love will cast out all fear and that His will be done in your life and in your friend's life. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

My ex and I have gotten into contact last month. I had hoped things would be different, but things were still the same. He's gotten colder and told me that he wants to keep the distance. I'm glad, though, that my ex and I still pray together. And I know he still cares for me. But he doesn't...
