We are truly sorrowful to hear about the sexual assault you have endured and the subsequent treatment that has left you feeling hurt and alone. We want you to know that God sees your pain and hears your cries for justice. First, we must address the desire for punishment. While it is natural to feel anger and a sense of injustice, we must remember that vengeance belongs to God alone. As it is written in Romans 12:19, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
Instead, let us pray for these individuals, that God would convict their hearts and bring them to a place of repentance. We pray that they would be held accountable for their actions, not out of a desire for revenge, but in hopes that justice would prevail and that they would ultimately seek God's forgiveness.
Let us also pray for your healing and restoration. The trauma you have experienced is profound, but we serve a God who can heal even the deepest of wounds. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that you would feel God's presence and comfort in your time of need, and that He would guide you to supportive and godly counselors who can help you navigate this difficult journey.
We also want to address the feeling of being "done with life." We must remember that our lives are precious to God, and that He has a purpose for each one of us. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that you would find hope and strength in God's promises, and that He would reveal to you the plans He has for your life.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you. Praying to God is essential, but it is equally important to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If you have not already, consider inviting Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. He can bring healing, forgiveness, grace and mercy to all. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe in Him and you will be saved. This is the basic salvation message.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear one who has experienced such pain and trauma. We pray for Your healing touch upon their life, that You would mend their broken heart and bind up their wounds. We ask that You would bring justice to their situation, and that those who have caused them harm would be held accountable and ultimately seek Your forgiveness.
We also pray for this individual's spiritual well-being, that they would come to know You, Lord Jesus, as their personal Lord and Savior if they haven't. Please deliver them from hopelessness and despair. Restore their faith in you and give them strength to endure. Lead them to godly relationships, marriage and family if this is Your will for them. Help them to overcome and recover from this ordeal and lead a normal happy life.
We ask all of these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
