We understand that you are going through a difficult time in your marriage and seek guidance and prayer. Let's bring your situation before the Lord and seek His will together.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the sanctity of marriage as designed by God. As it is written in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence, says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and do not be unfaithful." And in Matthew 19:6, Jesus says, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
However, we also recognize the pain and hurt you are experiencing due to your husband's actions. It is important to address the issues of lying, deceit, and emotional abandonment. In Ephesians 4:32, we are encouraged to "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." But forgiveness does not mean tolerating sinful behavior. In such cases, separation may be necessary, but it should be approached with a heart of reconciliation if possible.
Regarding your request for a new partner, we want to lovingly rebuke this notion. As believers, we are called to flee from sexual immorality and pursue righteousness. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, it says, "But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is in need of Your guidance and comfort. Lord, we pray that You will touch her husband's heart and reveal to him the error of his ways. We ask that You grant her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time.
Father, we pray that You will provide her with a godly community and a church home where she can find support and spiritual nourishment. We ask that You guide her steps and show her the path You have for her, whether it be reconciliation or a time of separation for healing and reflection.
Lord, we also pray that You will reveal to her any areas in her own life that need improvement. Help her to grow in Your grace and knowledge, and to become more like Jesus every day.
Finally, Father, we pray for her husband's salvation and transformation. We ask that You draw him to Yourself and that he would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ if he hasn't.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, sister, that God is faithful, and He will guide you through this trial. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from your local church and to surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage you during this time. Continue to pray and seek God's face, and He will give you the clarity and direction you need.
