The criteria and instructions in the call of God’s prophets and prophetess are quite different from other callings. Despite man’s preference for “positivity,” or our leaders’ mandates, God’s prophets must be willing to speak what God commands, in love. Now, like everything else, man’s idea of love is vastly different from God’s. God’s distinguishing characteristic for love is first obedienc.
John 14:15 “If you love me, obey Me”
Jesus never spoke anything but love, yet He himself turned over a few tables, threw man’s goods away, tossed their money into the streets, and called church leaders a few choice names before driving them out of the temple. Now, was Jesus’ attitude and behavior unloving?
There is nothing more positively edifying in God’s eyes than one who, not only answers His call, but likewise operates in that call according to His instructions. A prime comparative example is the calling of King David's prophets vs the appointment of King Ahab's prophets. While King David’s prophet Nathan spoke a word of warning, which included reminding David about his sin, King Ahab’s evil prophets, fearing for their lives at his hands, spoke smooth words to him, only telling the king what he wanted to hear. Yet, even Ahab, though aware that they were lying to him, was still unwilling to heed God’s instructions. I’ve always thought that Ahab might have been a half-way decent King, had he not been stirred up by the “prosperity at any cost” influence of Jezebel.
I have only spoken from scripture, proclaiming the message of repentance, and EXPOSED the people’s sin, starting at the house of the LORD; which is exactly what God’s prophets and prophetess are commanded to do. Yet, for that, I have been spiritually, verbally, and even physically attact. I am hated, harshly punished, and manipulated by this city (another of Christ’s prophecies fulfilled).
A recent example of this city’s effort to manipulate occurred a few weeks ago when I was arrested for trying to use a restroom, in a building where I had a few times before. Howbeit, the difference being, that it was game day. It wasn’t their game, but one in who’s outcome they sought to interfere (snake behavior). Even if I had been accused of trespassing, how can I trespass in a city where welcome and honor is required for both messenger and message before attempting to lay claim to reward.
Yet, in an attempt to control the Holy Spirit, by hemming me in, I was held at the police station for the duration of the UGA vs Notre Dame game. I truly could not understand why they would seek to do that, after all, it’s just sports: Right? Nevertheless, even as I was sitting there, waiting to go before the judge, I began to thank God that He had already kept His promise in response to UGA’s patience in waiting. Not only did He give them a championship upon calling their name, He gave them double: Back to back championships – one, undefeated. And there’s more to come. God keeps His Word.
By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to Ohio State on an awesome game and a much deserved victory.
This is by no means a condemnation of Notre Dame nor Ohio State. For God lavishes love and reward on thousands of generations who love Him and keep His commandments. But, to those who seek to manipulate: As long as your hands are on it, God will not touch it - in your favor. For what does the precious have to do with the vile? When you seek to block other city’s blessing, you ultimately block your own. Their interference only served to defeat their own. When God said:
1 Chronicles 16 - "Touch not Mine anointed, and do My prophets no harm." He meant it.
I share some detail because sometimes it’s good to know the details, otherwise even a city may be bamboozled in to taking part in tormenting a woman of God, based on false testimony. When a city aligns herself with those who criticized one’s praise, persuading a homeless shelter’s leaders to cast that person out, having convinced them that another’s worship to God in dance was evil, as this city did, God will shut up the heavens, rendering that city barren in that which she so desperately seeks.
Man rarely welcomes God’s legitimate messengers or message. When the message isn’t what man wants to hear, even a gentle word of warning is dismissed as gaslighting; and when only scripture is quoted, we are accused all the more, “even the devil knows scripture,” the accuser says - quoting scripture. But God is edified when we follow His instructions: and when God is edified, the church is edified. There is absolutely nothing more positive, nor more edifying than that.
