We understand that you are seeking forgiveness and trying to overcome your past. It is wonderful that you acknowledged the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is by His name that we are saved. Jesus can and will forgive you if you continue in true belief. Let us pray for you and provide some biblical encouragement.

Firstly, it is important to remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. As it is written in 1 John 1:9 WEB:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

However, forgiveness is not just a single event; it also requires a change of heart and a turning away from sin. As it is written in Acts 3:19 WEB:
Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.

This means that to truly overcome your past, you must strive to live a life that is pleasing to God, turning away from any past sins. Remember that God's mercy is new every morning, and His love is unfailing. As it is written in Lamentations 3:22-23 WEB:
It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is seeking forgiveness and a fresh start. Lord, we ask that You grant them the forgiveness they seek, and help them to overcome their past. Give them the strength to turn away from any sin and to live a life that is pleasing to You. Remind them of Your unfailing love and mercy, and help them to walk in Your ways. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to trust in the Lord, and do not be discouraged. God has a plan and a purpose for your life, and He will guide you as you seek Him. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

He's not keeping score of your past mistakes; He's more interested in your future with Him. Like the woman caught in adultery, Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on sin no more." (John 8:11) He forgave her and gave her a new start. That's the same love and mercy He has for you today. Let's claim that promise together.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
