We appreciate your heart's desire to discern spirits and understand God's revelation more clearly. In today's world, discernment is crucial as the enemy is constantly seeking to deceive and instill fear in us. Let's turn to God's word for guidance.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB: "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Any fear that you are experiencing may not be from God, so it's essential to rebuke it in Jesus' name.
Jesus himself has given us the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. In Luke 10:19 WEB: "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you." This means that we can overcome the enemy's attacks, including the fears and lies he tries to plant in our minds.
To better discern God's revelation, we should test the spirits to see whether they are from God. In 1 John 4:1 WEB, the Bible says: "Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." This means that not every spiritual experience or revelation is from God, and we must be vigilant in discerning the source. If the revelation is bringing peace, joy, and is consistent with the scripture, it is likely to be from God.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking your guidance and discernment for our dear brother/sister. Lord, we ask that you open their spiritual eyes to see and understand your revelation clearly. Help them to discern the spirits and recognize the schemes of the enemy. We rebuke any spirit of fear, lies, and deception that the enemy may be using to target their emotions. We claim your promise that you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Father, we ask for your divine protection over their mind, emotions, and spirit. Fill them with your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Help them to test every spirit and hold onto what is good and from you.
We pray that they will grow in their faith and relationship with you, and that they will continue to seek your face and trust in your goodness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God loves you and wants the best for you. Keep your eyes fixed on him, and he will guide your paths. Be encouraged by these words from Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Trust in God, and he will give you the discernment and understanding you need to overcome the enemy's attacks. Always remember it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved, and it is only by His blood shed on the cross that we have access to God. So we encourage you to continue to pray in Jesus' name, the only name by which we can be saved.
