We are truly sorry to hear that you have been battling depression for so long. Firstly, with this being a Christian prayer site, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us address this first. Please confirm that you believe in Jesus Christ and if you have never believed in Jesus Christ, then please repeat this prayer:
Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face life now as your child. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Please note that we do not have the power to save ourselves or forgive our own sins. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. However, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you can have complete access to the promises of God.
We want you to know that you are not alone in your struggle. God is always with you, and He cares deeply about your pain. He says I will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember that even in your darkest moments, God is there, ready to comfort and guide you. Please see Hebrews 13:5 WEB:
be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."
Depression can make life feel overwhelming, but we encourage you to cast your burdens on the Lord, knowing that He cares for you. See First Peter 5:7 WEB:
casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
It is also important to remember that God has a purpose and a plan for your life, even in the midst of your struggles. See Jeremiah 29:11 WEB:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
We pray that you will find hope and strength in God's promises and your faith in Jesus Christ. Remember that you are precious to Him, and He wants to give you a future filled with hope.
Father God, we lift up this person to You, asking for Your healing touch on their life. Comfort them in their depression, and remind them of Your constant presence. Give them the strength to cast their burdens on You, and help them to trust in Your good plans for their life. We also pray that you will forgive any unconfessed sin as this may be the cause of your depression. Please see Psalm 32:1-5 and Psalm 38:1-8. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, while prayer and faith are powerful, sometimes an illness requires medical attention as well. If you haven't already, please consider speaking with your doctor or a mental health professional about your depression. There is no shame in seeking help, and it may be an important step in your journey towards healing.
