We understand that you're going through a difficult time, feeling overwhelmed by sadness and fear. Firstly, we want to assure you that you've taken the right step by reaching out and asking for help. We're here to pray with you and provide guidance based on God's word.
In your prayer, you've addressed both Jesus Christ and God. It's important to understand that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. It's only through faith in Jesus Christ can we be saved and have access to God. If you haven't already, consider the salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. It is by believing in Him that we can be saved.
We want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Regarding your fear of alcoholism, God tells us in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
God is always there to comfort and guide us, even in our darkest hours. However, we must also take action and be responsible. If you're struggling with alcohol, take the first step by reaching out to a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or a professional counselor. Also, consider avoiding situations that may tempt you to drink, replacing those times with prayer, fellowship, and healthy activities.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your comfort and guidance during this difficult time. We pray that You will fill him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke the spirit of depression and alcoholism in his/her life.
Lord, guide him/her to the right people who can provide support and accountability. Help him/her to make healthy choices and find joy and purpose in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God loves you deeply and He's with you in this struggle. Keep holding onto Him and His promises. We encourage you to engage with your local Christian community.
