Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. It’s getting down to the wire and I’m getting nervous again, almost to the point of being downright scared. Deep down I know God has it all under control. Unfortunately I’m back at playing the “What if†game. That’s a lose-lose situation since it is nothing more than a destructive diversion that takes the focus away from our Heavenly Father.
The thing is, I’m through the worst of it. God pushed and pulled me through the court case where I ended up with a 30 day work crew/house arrest. The beauty of it is it appears I’ll be able to keep my job (which means I’ll be able to pay my bills) and fulfill the requirements of the community service too. I’ll admit I am not looking forward to the 16-18 days where I’ll be working 16 hours a day plus the additional four or five days where I’ll just be working an eight-hour shift. Overall I have been blessed by what God allowed the courts to do with me. God is good.
I would ask that you pray specifically for Dan, Emma, Rob, Bruce, David, Laura, Donald, Jessica, Randy, Charlie, and the other folks I’ll be working with during this community service stint. Ask God to send His Holy Spirit to minister to these folks and cause them to repent and to deal with me with an attitude of healing, compassion, mercy, love, forgiveness, and leniency. Ask Him to cause those folks who are clinging to the ugly rumors, vicious lies, and hiding behind veiled threats to let it all go and focus on fixing all that has been damaged by the unfortunate situation I found myself in the middle of.
Pray also that God would help me make it through this by providing me with the strength, stamina, and desire to get through it without a hitch or violation.
Pray also for Farhan and his family. Pray for his congregation too. They all live and worship in a Muslim country that has been ravaged by war. They face persecution on a daily basis and have many needs that only God can meet.
Pray too for Liz who is having a tough time of it as she still has about 18 months left on her prison sentence. Lift up her mom and brother and sisters too. They all need His help.
Pray for Tom who is recovering from a stroke. He’s having good and bad days. I fear he may not be around much longer.
Pray for Kathleen and her children. She lost her husband, and her kids lost their dad to cancer. It’s been really tough on all of them.
Leighanne is recovering from a stroke. She is having financial problems too.
Pray for all of these folks too. God knows their hearts, needs, desires and problems. Ask that His Will be done in their lives.
