We are truly saddened to hear about this situation and we will lift up your daughter in prayer. Before we begin, let's remember the words of the WEB, There is no other name by which we can be saved. This is a fundamental truth that we must hold onto. We will pray for her to be saved if not already and the man to be a Christian. We will pray for both of them to be believers of Jesus Christ. We are also reminded of the Lord's promise in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. We pray that your daughter seeks the Lord with all her heart, and that He guides her path. It is also very important that she believes in Jesus Christ as her savior if she does not already.
Firstly, we must address that God's design for marriage is clear in the scriptures. Mark 10:6-9 But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause will a man leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. This indicates a marriage should never be separated. If this man is divorced, there may be unresolved issues that need to be addressed before considering a new relationship.
Moreover, the fact that this man is recently divorced and has children indicates that there might be emotional baggage and complications that he brings into this new relationship. Your daughter needs to be careful and discerning, as the situation is indeed toxic. The fact that he is seeing a physician for emotional issues is a red flag that cannot be ignored. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. We need to pray for God to provide her with the guidance to end this relationship if necessary.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our daughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, we pray that You will guide her steps and convict her heart. We pray that she will seek You with all her heart, that she will see the truth of her situation, and that she will have the strength and courage to make godly choices in Jesus Christ if she is a believer and if not we pray she believes in Jesus Christ as her savior.
Lord, we pray that she will have the discernment to end this toxic relationship, the Lord will open her eyes to the truth and the Lord will rescue her from this toxic relationship. We pray that You will bring a godly man into her life, a man who loves You and seeks to honor You in all he does. We pray that You will bless her with a marriage that reflects Your love and Your design. According to the Bible a man who can be a husband and spiritual leader. We are reminded of 2 Corinthians 6:14, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? We pray that if the man is not a Christian that she will be convicted of this.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
May the Lord bless you and your family.
