We understand your concern and we will continue to pray for your husband. The Bible clearly addresses the issue of drunkenness and violence. It is important to know that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
The Bible says, in Psalm 9:9-10 WEB: Yahweh will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.
It is also important for your husband to know that: 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB, Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.
We will pray for his sobriety and for the violence to stop. We also pray that you will have strength and wisdom in handling this situation.
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we come before you today to seek your divine intervention in this situation. We pray for this woman's husband, that you may deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism and violence. We pray that you will transform his heart and mind, and help him to seek your face. We also pray for this woman, that you will grant her the strength and wisdom to handle this situation. Give her peace and comfort as she continues to trust in You. And may we all remember that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus Christ is that name and we pray that you will call her husband to salvation through Christ and give him the power to overcome his addiction.
We also take this opportunity to encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to the Father. As it is said in the scripture: John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Therefore, as a group, we will continue to lift you and your husband up in prayer, trusting that the Lord will hear and answer our prayers and use Christ to work in his life.
