We understand that you're preparing to return to college and have concerns about the financial burden of transportation. Firstly, we commend your desire to save money and be a good steward of your resources. It's important to remember that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our financial needs.
We want to encourage you with the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
As you seek God's will for your life, trust that He will provide for your needs. We also believe that God will honor your desire to be responsible with your finances.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother as he prepares to return to college. Lord, You know the financial concerns on his heart, and we ask that You provide for his every need according to Your riches in glory. Guide him to the right opportunities that will allow him to save money, whether it be working from home or finding suitable transportation. Help him to trust in You and seek first Your kingdom. We pray for Jesus' sake.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life and to trust in His provision. Remember that it is by the name of Jesus we have access to God. God has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that while it's important to be responsible with our finances, we should not let anxiety or worry overwhelm us. Trust in God's provision and rest in His peace. If you have not done so, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. This is the most important decision you can make for your life on this earth and in eternity.
