We understand the burden and concerns for college graduates who are struggling to find employment and manage their college debt. It's important to remember that God has a plan and purpose for each of us, and that includes the season following college graduation.
Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father and His throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
And in Acts 4:12 WEB:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let's address the concerns raised. It's commendable to desire good jobs and fair wages for those who have earned their degrees and are living upright lives. We pray that God will open doors of opportunity for them, and that He will guide their steps according to His will.
"May he grant your heart's desire, and fulfill all your counsel. We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of God, we will set up our banners. May Yahweh fulfill all your petitions." Psalm 20:4-5 WEB
However, we must also remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9 WEB). A good life, as God desires, is not necessarily one with high pay, fame, or substantial time off. It is a life that is aligned with His will, bearing the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB).
We must be cautious not to equate material or worldly success with God's blessing or favor. It is more important to pursue righteousness and God's kingdom than to pursue wealth or status (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
For those who are uncertain about their next steps, we pray for God's guidance and wisdom. We ask that He will reveal His will to them and give them the discernment to understand it.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." James 1:5 WEB
We also pray for those who, for various reasons, did not attend college but are still seeking to live godly lives. May God open up opportunities for them as well, and may they find their purpose and identity in Him.
Lastly, we encourage all to pray fervently and continually, not just for jobs, but for God's will to be done in their lives.
"Pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17 WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all college graduates who are seeking employment. We ask that You will open up opportunities for them, and guide them according to Your will. We pray for their patience and trust in Your timing. We also lift up those who did not attend college but are seeking Your purpose for their lives. May they find fulfillment and joy in You. Help us all to pursue righteousness and Your kingdom above all else.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage all to continue in prayer, seeking God's will, and trusting in His timing and provision.
