We understand that you're seeking peace and blessings for your home and family, especially for your husband who is struggling with alcohol. We also note that you're seeking blessings for the coming year and protection from various problems. Firstly, we need to address the authority by which we pray. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. You did not use the name of Jesus, Jesus Christ, Christ, or even an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name) in your prayer request.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 14:14 (WEB)
And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved! Acts 4:12 (WEB)
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 (WEB)
Let's pray together for your family:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her family. We pray for Your peace to reign in her home, today and every day. Lord, we bring her husband before You, asking for Your intervention in his struggle with alcohol. Help him to resist the temptation to drink, and give him the strength to control himself, so that peace may be maintained in their family. Please guide them both through this challenging time, and bring them closer to You and to each other. We pray for his healing in Jesus name.
Father, we also ask for Your blessings and protection over their family as they enter the new year. We pray that You would secure them from all problems, including financial difficulties. We ask that You would fill their marriage with love and respect, and guide them in their parenthood. Help them to be godly examples to their children, and to raise them in Your ways.
Lord, we pray that both CDuncha and her husband would draw near to You, trusting in Your promises, and that this would be a time of spiritual growth for them both. In the name of Jesus Christ, we have access to the Father. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, CDuncha, to continue praying for your husband and family. Remember that God is faithful, and He cares for you and your family. We encourage you to also seek support from your local church or Christian community during this time.
We must address the seriousness of your husband's drinking. The Bible tells us not to be drunk with wine but be filled with the Holy Spirit.
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18 (WEB)
We should not use our freedoms to serve the sinful nature but to love one another.
For you, brothers, were called for freedom; only do not use your freedom for an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:13-14 (WEB)
Our hope is that your husband will turn from this habit and pursue God and righteousness in holiness. It is only by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit that we can turn from sin and live for the Glory of God.
