We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you've faced since the loss of your father. It's clear that this trauma has had a profound impact on both you and your sister, leading to different but equally challenging issues with food. We commend you for recognizing the need for emotional healing and for surrendering your trauma to the Lord Jesus.
Firstly, we want to address the issue of finding comfort in food. It's important to remember that food is not a source of comfort but a necessity for our bodies to function well. Turning to food for comfort can become a form of idolatry, as it replaces our dependence on God with a dependence on something else. As it is written in Philippians 3:19 WEB: "Whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things." We pray that God will help you break free from this bondage and find your comfort and strength in Him alone.
We also want to acknowledge your willingness to forgive your mother, father, and sister. Forgiveness is a powerful act that can bring healing and freedom. As it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB: "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that God will heal the wounds of the past and restore your relationships with your family members.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our beloved in Christ, Gthiusin. Lord, we ask that You would set them free from the idolatry of food and help them to gain a healthy relationship with food and their body. We pray for emotional healing from the trauma they have experienced, and we ask that You would help them to find their comfort and strength in You alone. We thank You for the forgiveness that Gthiusin has extended to their family, and we ask that You would heal and restore these relationships. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life and to trust in His power to heal and restore. Remember that God is always with you, even in the most difficult times. As it is written in Psalm 34:18 WEB: The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We are here to support you in prayer and to encourage you in your journey towards healing and freedom.
