We are truly saddened to hear of the pain and betrayal you have experienced at the hands of your family. The Bible tells us that we should "Put away from yourselves the old man, which grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth" (Ephesians 4:22-24 WEB). It is clear that the environment you have been subjected to does not reflect the love and support that a family should provide.
Firstly we want to point out the importance of praying in Jesus' name. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is so important that we acknowledge the power in Jesus' name and pray accordingly.
We understand that the situation has led you to consider cutting off ties with your family. While we acknowledge the pain you are in, we also encourage you to consider the following: "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on both evil and good people, and he sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong" (Matthew 5:44-45 WEB). This does not mean you should allow the abuse to continue, but rather, it is a call to respond with love and forgiveness, even if it means setting boundaries to protect yourself, in a way that honors God.
We pray that God will heal your wounds and give you the strength to forgive. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). Remember, forgiveness is not about saying that what happened was acceptable, but rather, it is about releasing the burden of bitterness and leaving justice to God.
Regarding your career and independence, trust that God has a plan for you. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). We pray that He will open the right doors for you to find a job that will not only provide for your needs but also bring you fulfillment.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear sibling who has been deeply hurt by those closest to them. We pray for healing and restoration, that You would mend their broken heart and bind up their wounds. We ask that You would give them the strength to forgive, even as You have forgiven us through Christ Jesus.
We also pray for their career, that You would guide them to the right job, one that will not only meet their needs but also bring them joy and purpose. We ask that You would give them wisdom as they navigate their relationships, that they would respond with love and kindness, even in the face of adversity.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. It is in His name that we have access to You, oh God.
Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord and put your trust in Him. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
