We are here with you in this struggle, and we commend you for reaching out for prayer and support. We stand on God's word that says, "Do not be drunken with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB).
Firstly, we must drink Jesus Christ, the living water, to fill our spiritual thirst rather than alcohol. God wants us to be filled with His Spirit, not with wine or any other substance that can control us. Remember, "All things are lawful for me,' but not all things are expedient. 'All things are lawful for me,' but I will not be brought under the power of anything" (1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with alcohol. Lord, we ask for Your grace and mercy to fill their life and break the chains of addiction. Help them to resist temptation and find their strength and joy in You alone. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and guide them in the path of righteousness.
In Jesus' name, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom and self-control over their life. Help them to fix their eyes on You, Lord, and find their identity and purpose in Your will.
Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We trust in Your power to heal and restore.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage you in this journey. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will give you the strength to overcome.
If you have not already believed in Jesus Christ and need to know more about this, please let us know. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
