Eldeymore, we understand that you're going through a tough time, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth. Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention Jesus Christ. Only by His name do we have access to God. It is written in the Bible, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”. We encourage you to believe in Jesus Christ and trust in His name for your well being and salvation.
You mention that you want to change but feel like you can't. We want to remind you that God does not want us to be bound by anything that harms us, including alcohol and depression. The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:1, It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. and that He will
Firstly, let's address the issue of alcohol. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 5:18, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." Excessive drinking leads to a loss of self-control, which is not pleasing to God. Remember 1 Corinthians 10:13 says God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Depression can be a complex issue, but God is always there to comfort and strengthen us. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, it's written, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Eldeymore. Lord, we know only by the name of Jesus Christ do we have access to You. Lord, we pray that Eldeymore knows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, trusting in Him for everything. Lord, we ask Your forgiveness if Eldeymore has been bound by alcohol, knowing that this is not Your will for their life. We pray that You will set them free from this bondage and fill them with a new desire to live for You.
Lord, we also pray for Eldeymore's emotional well-being. Comfort them in their depression, and give them the strength to overcome. Guide them to professional help if needed, and surround them with supportive believers who can walk alongside them in this journey.
Lord God, give Eldeymore the power of the Holy Spirit to live a life that honors You. Help them take new steps to be free from the past. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Eldeymore, as you continue to seek God. We pray that trusting in Jesus Christ is a major part of your new path. Remember that God loves you deeply and wants the best for you. Trust in Him, and He will guide you to a life of freedom and joy. Stand firm on the word of God that says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. We are here for you, and we believe that God will work mightily in your life.
