We understand that you are struggling with addictions to weed, cigarettes, and alcohol, and you are seeking God's help to overcome these challenges. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging these issues and seeking God's intervention. We are reminded in Romans 12:2, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
First and foremost, we are praying with you and truly believe that we can approach the throne of God boldly because you included the powerful name of Jesus. When we pray in Jesus name we are praying based on our relationship with Jesus and His mediatorial position before God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We also want to remind you that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling with addictions to weed, cigarettes, and alcohol. Lord, we know that these addictions are not Your will for their life, and we ask that You grant them the strength and wisdom to overcome these challenges.
In the name of Jesus, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of their life. We cast out the evil smoking of weed and cigarettes, and the stronghold of alcohol consumption. We proclaim freedom and deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask that You renew their mind and transform their desires, aligning them with Your perfect will. Help them to see their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and to glorify You in all they do.
Thank you for the joy and freedom you give us in Jesus. We thank you and we praise you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Trust in the Lord to help you overcome these addictions, and remember that He is always with you, guiding and supporting you every step of the way.
If you have not already, consider seeking support from fellow believers and professionals to assist you in overcoming these addictions. God uses people and professionals to help us and that does not mean you are trusting in them instead of Him.
As a final note, we want to remind you that God promises forgiveness for those who repent and turn away from their sins. If you have not already, confess your sins to God and ask for His forgiveness. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
