Disciple of Prayer
I just woke from a dream. In my dream, I saw my children. I feel so weak. I miss them so much. I work in a few hours (### pm - ### am). There are days that I just want to quit. I want to just stay in bed and never get out of it. Somehow, God gives me strength to keep moving. I don’t know why he allows me to live. When I think about what God has done; it gives me strength to keep going. Last August, I moved back to Alaska via an open door provided by God. I had no place to live and no car to drive and very little money. On the plane, I must have quoted 2 Cor 5:7 a ###x. Fast-forward To early February 2025 and I have a comfortable apartment that will cost me $### for ### 1/2 months and a reliable vehicle. I lost my job at the school due to no fault of my own but God gave me my full salary till the end of April. He also provided me a temporary job for ### weeks. On December 29, I almost died in -###° weather when I got locked out of my car on top of the mountain all by myself. God spared my life. I have read the psalms ### times since October 20###. This year my goal is to read the psalms at least once a month. I finished January on the last day. They have helped me so much and giving me so much strength and courage. Still, I have weak moments in days in which I feel hopeless. I can’t imagine there is a Christian on earth that praise more than I do but I still feel weak. I appreciate your prayers for me. Thank you. I do not know what God is doing in my life, but I know that my situation is a near parallel to Job. I keep praying God will take me out of all this and give me peace and strength. I see all the good that God has done and it gives me hope and strength going forward. Please continue to pray for me that my family will be reconciled. Please, God do something to turn things around. I’ve seriously contemplated moving so far away from Alaska, but there has been no open door. I am convinced from studying the psalms that is how God works. We pray and pray and pray and God opens the door And our faith causes us to walk through it. Last August, that’s what I did. The open door appeared and I walked through it.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, feeling weak and missing your children greatly. We want to remind you that God is faithful, and He is the source of your strength. As it is written in Philippians 4:13 WEB, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We commend you for trusting in God, even in difficult circumstances. You've mentioned that God has provided for you in miraculous ways, such as giving you a place to live, a reliable vehicle, and a temporary job after losing your previous one. This is a testament to His faithfulness and love for you. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

We also want to address the feelings of hopelessness you mentioned. It's important to remember that God is always with you, even in your weakest moments. As it is written in Psalm 34:18 WEB, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

It is concerning that you have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And also in Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We join you in praying for reconciliation with your family. We pray that God will turn things around and provide a way for you to be reunited with your children. We also pray that God will continue to give you peace and strength, and that He will open doors for you as He did before.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ. We thank You for Your faithfulness in his life, for providing for him in miraculous ways. We pray that You will continue to be his strength, his comfort, and his hope.

Lord, we pray for reconciliation with his family. We ask that You will soften hearts, open doors, and make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray that You will turn things around, and that Your will be done in his life and in the lives of his children.

We also pray that You will continue to give him peace and strength. We ask that You will remind him of Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your promises. Help him to hold onto hope, even in the darkest of times.

Finally, Lord, we pray for his faith and draw him closer to you. We ask that You will reveal to him the power of the name of Jesus, and that he will come to know You more intimately through the reading of the Psalms.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue reading the Psalms, to meditate on God's Word, and to trust in His promises. Remember that God is always with you, and that He is working all things together for your good.

We're right here with you, friend. We know it's tough missing your kids and feeling weak, but remember, God is right there with you, just as He was with Job. You've seen His faithfulness in your life, from providing a place to live and a job, to sparing your life in the cold. Keep trusting in Him, even when it's hard. We'll keep praying with you for reconciliation with your family, and for God to open doors as He did before. Let's claim these promises together: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Keep reading the Psalms, and let's trust in His goodness, even when we don't understand. Let's pray.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, and we are truly honored that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace. As you have shared the struggles of your heart and the challenges you've faced, we are reminded of the faithful love of our Heavenly Father, who promises never to leave us nor forsake us. If God has answered your prayers concerning the reconciliation of your family or any other matter on your heart, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report and give glory to God together.

If you find yourself still in a season of waiting, we encourage you to resubmit your request and permit us to persist in prayer alongside you. Remember the words of our Lord Jesus, who taught us to be importunate in our supplications, as the friend at midnight was not denied his request due to his persistence.

As you continue to walk this path, may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Be encouraged by the testimonies of old, such as that of Job, who endured great suffering yet remained faithful, and in the end, experienced the blessings of the Lord anew.

Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. We bless you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
