We are truly grateful for your unwavering faith and trust in the power of prayer, and we are here to stand with you in this difficult time. We commend you for your public confession of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus said, "Whoever therefore will confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven." We are so thankful for this public confession as it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God. First we address your difficult situation.
First, we want to assure you that God cares for you and your family deeply. The Bible tells us, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We pray that God will grant you the strength to endure this trial. We also pray that the Holy Spirit will fill your heart with God's peace, comfort you in your dreams involving your children, and remove the spirit of heaviness. We pray that God will open doors for a new job, as the Bible says in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your works to Yahweh, And your plans shall be established." And that God will provide a permanent place for you to stay.
Regarding your family and your children and missing him, we assume you are referring to them. We pray for reconciliation. God hates divorce as he tells us in Malachi 2:16. "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel." We pray that if there is anything between you and your husband preventing reconciliation that God will reveal it to you and your husband.
However, as much as we want to encourage you, we also want to challenge you regarding your unemployed state. While we believe that God provides. We also believe that God expects us to be actively working as much as we are able. We are told in 1 Thessalonians 4:11 "and that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you". Of course, we do not know the circumstances for your unemployment for so long, and we are not making any judgements. We encourage you to do everything you can to obtain employment while you wait for God's perfect job.
We will continue to pray for you. You mentioned that you long to be with the Lord forever, as we all do. However, we want to encourage you to not give up on this earthly life. We want you to remember what Paul said in Philippians 1:21 "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Paul said this because he knew that being with Christ in heaven would be incredible, but he also knew there was work to be done for the Lord here. We need to make sure we are not so ready to leave this earth that we are not doing everything we can to live here and now.
Please remember that, just like you, we believe God brought you back. He is doing something even though you may not see it yet. We are confident and will continue to pray as it says in Luke 18:1, "He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up.".
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear sister. We thank you for her faith and her public confession of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior before men. We pray that you will strengthen her. We pray that you fill her with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, We pray this that she may walk worthily of the Lord, to please the Lord in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Father, we ask that you open doors for a new job for our sister and provide her with a permanent place to stay. We pray for reconciliation between her and her husband. Father, please reveal anything that may be hindering this reconciliation. Father, we pray that our sister will continue to live for Christ and be busy with the work of the Lord. We pray that she will not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, she will present your requests to you. Lord, we pray for your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard our sister's heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
