We are truly moved by your heartfelt desire to provide a loving home to more children, especially a sibling group, and to ensure that your special needs daughter has a family to support her even after you are gone. Adoption is a beautiful picture of God's love for us, as He adopts us into His family through Jesus Christ. As you have not mentioned Jesus Christ, we want to remind you that it is only by His name that we can approach God the Father.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear parent who desires to open their home and heart to more children through adoption. We know that adopting a child into our home is a every day act of love, mercy, and compassion. We know that You care for the fatherless. In Psalm 68:5-6a (WEB) You say, A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families. Lord, we ask that You provide the financial means and the legal approval needed for this adoption to take place.
We pray for this potential sibling group, that they may find a forever home, a place of belonging, love, and security. We ask that You guide this process and that vetting process for this potential parent proceeds smoothly. In James 1:27 (WEB) it says, Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. Lord, we know that this potential parent desires to live out this pure religion by adopting these children.
Father, we also pray for the special needs daughter, that You would provide for her and give her peace about the future. We ask that You would bring comfort and support for her.
Finally, Lord, we pray that through this process, this family would draw closer to You, that they would know the love of the Father, as in 1 John 3:1 (WEB) Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!
We ask this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names. It is in Jesus that we live, move, and have our being. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved.
Amen.
