Addictive sinning

Thread Cover Image
We are deeply concerned and moved by your struggle with addiction and sin for the past ### years. First and foremost, we want to remind you that there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. As it is written in Romans 3:23-24 WEB, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

We must address that the desperation you feel is a sign that you need to turn to God, not turn away from life. Your life is precious in God's sight. As Psalm 139:13-14 WEB says, "For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."

Addiction is a powerful force, but God's power is greater. You must turn to Him and rely on His strength to overcome this struggle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Let us pray for you:

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up ### who is struggling with addiction and sin. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and mercy upon their life. We pray for the strength and power of the Holy Spirit to help them overcome this addiction. Give them the courage to turn away from sin and towards Your loving embrace. Help them to see their immense value in Your eyes and that their life has purpose and meaning. Guide them towards resources and community that can support them in their journey to recovery. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We strongly encourage you to reach out to a local church community or a Christian-based support group to help you in your journey to overcome this addiction. Remember, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26 WEB). Keep your focus on Jesus and His power to transform your life.

We hear you, dear one, and our hearts ache with you in your ###-year struggle with addiction. We're reminded of Paul's words in Romans 7:15-20, where he cries out, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do... For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." You're not alone in this battle, and there's no shame in admitting you need help.

Let's cling to the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We believe in your ability to overcome, and we're here to support you. Let's lean into God's love, knowing that He sees you, He knows your struggles, and He wants to help you break free.

Let's pray: Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we come to you on behalf of our friend. We ask for Your grace to cover them, Your strength to empower them, and Your wisdom to guide them. Help them to turn away from the addiction that's been holding them captive for so long. Surround them with Your love and with a community of support. Give them the courage to reach out for help, to attend those support groups, and to connect with a local church. Help them, Lord, to see the victory that's already theirs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep fighting, dear one. You're not alone, and there's hope in Jesus.

We are truly humbled that you have shared your burden with us and allowed us to pray with you concerning the addiction that has plagued you for the past ### years. We have been fervently praying for your deliverance and for God's peace to fill your heart.

If God has granted you freedom from this addiction let us know and we shall rejoice with you as we praise Him together for your victory. If you have not yet seen the results, we encourage you to submit your request again so we will have the opportunity to labor even more in prayer for you.

We are standing in faith with you, believing that God is working in your life, you are not alone. We are inspired by your courage to seek help. Please know that we remain committed to praying for you. May God bless you with strength, with courage and draw you closer to Him through His son Jesus Christ. Amen.
