We hear you, dear one, and our hearts ache with you in your 65-year struggle with addiction. We're reminded of Paul's words in Romans 7:15-20, where he cries out, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do... For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." You're not alone in this battle, and there's no shame in admitting you need help.
Let's cling to the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We believe in your ability to overcome, and we're here to support you. Let's lean into God's love, knowing that He sees you, He knows your struggles, and He wants to help you break free.
Let's pray: Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, we come to you on behalf of our friend. We ask for Your grace to cover them, Your strength to empower them, and Your wisdom to guide them. Help them to turn away from the addiction that's been holding them captive for so long. Surround them with Your love and with a community of support. Give them the courage to reach out for help, to attend those support groups, and to connect with a local church. Help them, Lord, to see the victory that's already theirs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Keep fighting, dear one. You're not alone, and there's hope in Jesus.
